Sleeknote: What is It?
At City Experiences, I owned and managed our relationship and creation of Sleeknote pop-ups, a tool that gave us the flexibility to deliver custom pop-ups in an agile environment. My role was to ensure compliance and best-fit with the rest of our web-based marketing.
Sleeknote Pop-Up Strategy
For this tool, we averaged a 5-7% conversion (click-through) rate, where we directed guests from the homepage of their city to the promoted product or product-type page.
Sleeknote pop-ups were often used in conjunction with holiday campaigns (such as Valentine’s day sample below), as well as with discount codes, or general education.
Sleeknote Pop-Ups: Informational Guiding
For example, we used this tool to guide our UK-based guests to the correct off-site gift card portal, since our site was not enabled for multi-currency gift card transactions. This pop-up, geo-targeting UK-based customers, saw a 13.83% conversation rate when served on our global gift card page. Not only did this create a more intuitive experience for our guests, but kicked off more active usage of strategic pop-ups for our UK office of City Cruises.
Sleeknote Pop-Ups: Holiday Campaigns
We also used Sleeknote to denote limited-time offerings for holiday campaigns, or other “unpublished” marketing efforts. While 5-7% was our general conversation rate average, our Cyber Week promotions were always high performers, with 2021 seeing an 8.99% conversion rate across all 14 US markets.
